003: LET’S GET SOCIAL
Recently, more and more clients have been calling us about social media content help and asking if we can size the advertisement we just made for their YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc. The answer is, YES!
We have gotten so much positive feedback from this that I got together with the team and made a plan! We are going to start offering a social media package and wanted to make it easy enough that everyone could get on board with it.
Almost everyone and their grandmother has social media and posts on their social media, it was a no brainer. It was a “why didn’t I think of this before?” It was a Duhhh moment! Of course we will offer this service!
We can make anything you already have or anything you want made new, correctly formatted to fit the social media of your choice or all the social medias!
With everyone online these days the content you put up should be intentional and eye-catching because when your own social media using grandma scrolls past your business post there is a problem!
Let us help your “social” life! We will make it fun, exciting, and get your point across with real content videos!
002: Why Sign Ordinances are Cracking Down on Digital Sign Animations, Motion Signs and Video Signs
One question I always ask when talking to new clients, “Does your city or town have an ordinance?” The responses vary. We have clients who have started with us and have had very neat animated content that played for months, sometimes years. And then, I get a call one day and they say, “Danielle, I got a letter in the mail that said the sign can no longer have animations or video movement.”
With a rise in technology and business owners being made promises of being able to put “Anything they want on the sign.” An ordinance is disappointing to the sign owners and me. The fact of the matter is that you cannot put anything you want on the sign. Yes, your software may be capable of doing flashing, bright, obnoxious, or scrolling text. Yes, it’s very cool you have figured out how to do this yourself.
The problem lies in the fact that all of this becomes very distracting to drivers. And the city, state, or county cuts the privilege of animation. So now, the neighbor down the street with graphics that are very well put together for their business and in no way a flashing signal of distress, gets punished.
The ordinance depends on what is decided on the legal powers that be and can be heavily fined if violated. So it’s a major issue. I do my best to get every schedule I work on organized in such a way that the most ads can be viewed at any given time. When an ordinance is in place that one still ad must hold for an hour that makes it much harder.
Still, with the ordinance in place, we can work around it. We make sure (if the software allows) that the best ads are playing at the best times of day, that the rotation makes sense.
All I am saying is, if you are creating your own ads, be mindful of drivers and of other sign owners. Sign owners are having the animation privilege revoked all over the country because of crazy homemade graphics.
This is only one ordinance we work with out of many, they all are different
001: INTRO TO ME
More than likely, if you have ever called the office, you have been greeted with a perky “SIGNPROgrammers, this is Danielle!”
I am Danielle.
I am a mother, a yoga teacher, a self-proclaimed Wonder Woman, and the Production manager of SIGNPROgrammers, Inc. for nearly four years.
I am creating this blog, Danielle’s Data, to open the doors to what we can do for your company. I would also love to walk you through my daily life and dedication to making the best advertising tool for your business: Your LED digital sign. I have learned so much and every day is still a learning journey for me.
Luckily, the owner of our small but mighty business, Deb Tracy, has been with me every step of the way (or rather I have been with her.)
We go through many things that you may relate to such as: answering questions, billing, accomplishing deadlines, tech support, training, agreements, disagreements, and the list goes on.
One thing we strive to perfect is making your life easier as a business owner. WE GET IT! You are busy with a life outside of work and you do not need another job. That is why you have us! We have you covered whether you need content, tech support, and troubleshooting, software issues, or eye-catching plasma screens for your office!
This blog will be informative, educational, fun, and probably a little, umm… should I say… “punny” at times.
I am the girl behind the phone calls and emails. This is my journey that I get to share with you, so stay tuned!
